Stick drum. A barrel-shaped drum with skins set on its top and bottom and lashed together. The drum is attached to a low stand. The player kneels in front of it and strikes it with two sticks. Strokes are defined by the height from which the drummer hits the skin (low, middle, and high) as well as whether they are dampened or allowed to reverberate.
