Small side door. This half-size door interrupting the painting of bamboo on the stage-left side of the ato za is used for inconspicuous entrances and exits. During a nō performance, the chorus members and stage attendants enter through the kirdo. For abbreviated and recital performances of dance (shimai) or song (utai), the performers enter and exit through this side door.
