Masks of men (other than old men, which is a separate category). These masks represent youths (Kasshiki, Dōji, and Yorobōshi), ghosts of warrior-courtiers (Atsumori, Jūroku, Chūjō, Heita), Chinese men (Kantan), and other male characters appearing in mugen nō (Waka otoko) or with special features (Kagekiyo). Adult male characters in genzai nō generally go without a mask (hitamen).
