JPARC (Japanese Performing Arts Research Consortium)
Outline
JPARC is a consortium of scholars supporting the research and promotion of Japanese performing arts in Japan and abroad. JPARC has three main objectives:
- To foster collaborative research among its members.
- To publish research by consortium members on its platforms.
- To provide researchers, students, teachers, and theatre practitioners with high-quality materials and advanced scholarship related to Japanese performing arts.
JPARC supports:
- Databases that collect and display multimedia materials related to performance, such as masks, costumes, stage properties, illustrations, and photographs of staged productions.
- A website presenting textual and multimedia content organized by performance type, each with modules on history, performance elements, plays, playwrights, performers, and historical illustrations.
The Consortium brings together scholars from institutions around the world with expertise in different areas of Japanese performing arts. Its website serves as a portal for presenting scholarship and research initiatives, and for introducing related projects from other platforms.

JPARC (日本舞台芸術研究コンソーシアム)
概要
JPARC (Japanese Performing Arts Research Consortium)は日本舞台芸術の研究と普及を国内外に支援する研究者のコンソーシアムである。現在、インターネット上で雑コンテンツが増加しているものの、JPARCはネットを通して日本舞台芸術を求める方を誘導し、信頼できる情報を伝達することが目的となる。
構成
JPARCは二つの主な活動により構成されている。
- JPARCのデジタル研究資料データベース（JPARC DB）。メンバー及び他の提供者よりデジタル資料及びデジタル化されたアナログ資料（写真、録画映像や印刷物など）を収取し、資料に徹底的なメタデータを追加する。
- JPARCのウェブサイト（jparc.online）。jparc.onlineというウェブサイトはJPARC DBの資料を活用し、教科書及び研究論文を公開する場となる。本サイトは木構造により、基礎的な内容は表に表示し、日本舞台芸能の初心者でも理解し易くなる。一方、専門的な内容はサブセクションにある。又、本サイトは現在、3つのジャンル（能楽、歌舞伎、文楽）から構築されている。（現在「能楽」が完成されており、「歌舞伎」作成中である。）
対象
コンソーシアムの主な狙いは以下となる。
- メンバーの共同研究を育むこと。
- メンバーによる研究成果をjparc.onlineを通してネット上で披露すること。
- 日本舞台芸術研究者のみではなく、大学生・大学院生、又は演劇実践者に高質資料と最先端研究を提供すること。
